Justin was born on June 29, 1988, in Orrville, to John David Phillips and Cheryl (Moore) Phillips and attended Orrville High School.

He worked as a grill cook for McDonald's on Lincoln Way in Wooster.

Justin was a music enthusiast and he loved playing drums, guitar, and going to concerts.
